Personal Dashboard
David Cao
I work around cybersecurity, SOC workflows, GRC, and AI-assisted tooling. Most of my projects start as messy notes, then slowly turn into small systems I can inspect, improve, and blame with evidence.

Now
- Working in cybersecurity, with hands-on exposure to SOC monitoring, GRC documentation, risk tracking, and enterprise security tools.
- Building this website as a personal dashboard, somewhere between a portfolio, a notebook, and a tiny console menu.
- Testing where AI agents actually help in security research, documentation, workflow design, and technical learning. They are useful. They are also very confident when wrong.
Featured Projects
- Coastal Fishing Forecast - a side project that turns weather, tide, location type, and fishing judgement into a nearshore forecast that tries not to sound smarter than it is.
- Cybersecurity Daily Briefing - an OpenClaw experiment that turns public security news into short daily notes with sources, affected areas, and fewer fake emergency sirens.
- AI-assisted Security Workflow Notes - experiments with AI agents for alert notes, investigation structure, security documentation, and the boring parts that become dangerous when skipped.
Writing
- Security notes on SOC work, alert handling, GRC, risk communication, and the strange job of making security readable.
- Interface notes on pixel layouts, personal tools, and why a small screen can sometimes explain a system better than another giant dashboard.
